Thank you for your interest in applying for an Emergency Services Foundation scholarship. The Foundation has awarded over 140 scholarships since 1988. However, as numbers are limited, it is important that you present your proposal in the best possible manner.
What will it take to be considered for a 2019 scholarship?
You must be employed or registered as a volunteer with a Victorian emergency services agency –
- Ambulance Victoria
- Country Fire Authority
- Metropolitan Fire Brigade
- Victoria Police
- Victoria State Emergency Services
- Department of Health and Human Services
- Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport, and Resources
- Emergency Management Victoria
- Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority
- Lifesaving Victoria
- Maritime Safety Victoria
- Red Cross
- St John Ambulance Victoria
- Victorian Coast Guard Association
- Victorian Council of Churches Emergency Ministry
Your applications must be received via the online process.
Your study plan will need to demonstrate how it adds value to the Victorian emergency management sector.
You must be willing to share the knowledge you have gained through written and oral presentations.
You will need head of agency support for your scholarship application.
In 2019 preference will be given to applicants who wish to explore the following areas of strategic priority:
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Diversity and inclusion

12 October 2018 – scholarship applications open
1 March 2019 – scholarship applications close
April 2019 – short listed applicants interviewed by the ESF Scholarship Committee
May 2019 – scholarship recipients and their Head of Agency advised
June 2019 – ESF transfer of funds to scholarship awardees and scholarship awardees announced
